Inspired by North American folk music he grew up on, D.L. Forrest combines his favorite parts of folk, rock, pop, country & Americana. In his latest batch of songs, he speaks about the overwhelming grief in the air, puts a magnifying glass to day-to-day life, and finds joy in music and community.
D.L. is a singer songwriter ofrom Lenni Lanape land (“Philadelphia, PA”), now residing in Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh lands (“Vancouver, BC”). He grew up spending summers at the Philly Folk Fest, but until 2024, remained a fan of the genre, while he wrote indie rock songs in the band, Buddie. Yearning for that comfort of home, a switch went off when attending the Vancouver Folk Festival.
